Working Together Playing Together Learning Together
We are a church of helping hands.
We're a caring community uniting reason with spiritual exploration. We draw on the wisdom of the world's religions and the results of science. We welcome people of all abilities, ages, classes, races, colors, ethnicities, gender expressions, and sexual orientations.
Is this your first "virtual visit?" I invite you to visit our Welcome page, read past sermons and learn about our community. Or stop by on a Sunday morning. We'd love to meet you in person.

November 7 - "Knowledge & Power"
"Atheists and agnostics . . . are among the highest-scoring groups on a new survey of religious knowledge." This first sentence in PEWResearch's September 28 report is still reverberating through our nation's news sources. The old Latin maxim claims Knowledge is Power, Scientia potentia est . Does it, can it, apply in religion?
Speaker: Rev. Fritz Hudson
November 14 - "Changing 'Those People' to 'Us' "
I became aware of how language can create divisions, assumptions, and stereotypes during my community ministry at a free Saturday meal in the Midtown area of Omaha. How does the language we use keep us from being a truly inclusive and democratic community? What words do you use that set up divisions in your world?
Speaker: Laura Shennum, Student Minister
November 21 - "Creating Peace with Muslim Partners"
As the U.S.A. we are nine years into a war to break Afghanistan's crucible for creating Muslim terrorists. As the U.U.A. we are in the first year of living out our conscience's commitments to "Creating Peace." Can our faith and the faith of Afghani partners move us together to serve a common vision?
This season of thanks is also a season of transition, a turning point in our lives in which we contemplate both beginnings and endings. We look back to consider things for which we are grateful and cast our minds ahead in anticipation of even greater things. Join us as we celebrate this seasonal milestone.
Leaders: Kathy Disney & Tom Ineck
Standing on the Side of Love
Standing on the Side of Love (SSL) is a UU public witness campaign. Its current focus is to support and advocate for full civil rights (including marriage equality) for persons of all sexual orientations and gender expressions, and full human rights & just immigration opportunities for families seeking legal residency in our country.
Its roots, however, arise from the founding inspiration of our faith. And the scope of issues illuminated by its light is sure to grow yet broader. For a deeper understanding of SSL, please see Fritz Hudson's sermon Which Side Are We On? (September 19) which is available at the church or on our website.
