Welcome to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and Preschool!
From Immanuel’s humble beginning as a mission congregation serving the immigrant Germans from Russia living in south Lincoln, she has been blessed with many memorable milestones. None of these milestones is more significant than celebrating a century of ministry proclaiming Christ crucified to a dying world. The seeds planted by the church’s first pastor, Reverend W.F.V. Baeder, took root and the small congregation meeting in the homes of its members built its first building. Soon after, a parochial day school was added, and God was with her every step of the way.
Although the times, the neighborhood, and the faces of Immanuel have changed, the message has remained the same, “God with us!” Be it Christ in the cradle or Christ on the cross, the forgiveness Christ came to give is the rock upon which Immanuel Lutheran Church continues to thrive. Immanuel is a congregation blessed with a rich history but, more importantly, we are a congregation with a bright future!
